Materials: Clark’s O.N.T Mercerized Crochet, 2 balls; or J. & P Coats Mercerized Crochet, 1 ball, size 30, White. Milward’s steel crochet hook No. 7 or 8.

Jabot: Starts at small loops at center and is worked towards outside. Ch 90, turn. 1^st row: S c in 8^th ch from hook, * ch 5, skip sts of ch, s c in next st, repeat from * to end of ch (28 loops). Ch 7 turn. 2^nd row: S c in 1^st loop, * ch 5, s c in next loop, repeat from * across (28 loops ). Ch 7, turn. 3^rd to 6^th rows incl: Same as 2^nd, but make 2 s c in each loop instead of 1 s c. 7^th row: Same as 3^rd, but ch 6 instead of ch 5. 8^th row: Tr in 1^st loop, * ch 7 in next loop, repeat from * across, ch 3, turn. 9^th row: D c in ch, d c in tr, d c in next ch, * ch 10, skip next tr, 3-tr cluster in center st of next ch-loop, ch 10, skip next tr, d c in ch just before nest tr, d c in tr, d c in each st of ch-loop, d c in tr, d c in next ch after tr ( 11-d c group ). Repeat from * across, ending with 4 d c. (6 groups of 11-d c and 1 half group at each edge) Ch 3, turn.

Ch 3, turn. 11^th row: D c in each of 3 d c, * sh 8, cluster in 2^nd ch st just before cluster of previous row, ch 6, cluster in 2^nd st after next cluster, ch 8, skip 1 s c of d c-group, d c in each of next 7 d c, repeat from * across, ending with 4 d c. 13^th row: 4 s c under ch-loop, * under each of next 4 ch-loops make s c, half d c, 2 d c, 5 tr, 2 d c, half d c, s c. Then 4 s c under next ch-loop, ch 7, 4 s c under next ch-loop, repeat from * across, ending with with ch 3, tr in last d c of previous row. Ch 1, turn. 14^th row: S c under ch-loop, ch 4, ** skip 2 d c’s of petal, d c in next d c, * ch 5, skip 1 d c of same petal, d c in next d c, repeat from * 2 more times, leaving a hook the last 2 loops of the last d c, skip 2 d c of next petal, d c in next d c, working off together. 15^th row: Skip 1^st ch-loop, 2 s c under next loop (between 2 d c’s on petal), * ch 3, d c under next loop, ch 3, tr in same loop, ch 3, tr in same loop, ch 3, d c in same loop, ch 3, 2 s c under next loop, ch 1, 2 s c under next loop, repeat from * until 4 small scallops are made, then ch 4, skip across to 1^st loop of next fan and make 2 s c. Repeat from * across, ending with ch 3 and tr in the last s c. Ch 4, turn. 16^th row: 2 s c under 1^st loop, * ch 5, 2 s c under next loop, repeat from * making 4 loops over each small scallop and ch 3 between small scallops.

Center: Attach thread to 1^st st of foundation ch. 1^st row: Ch 6, skip 1^st 4 sts, d c in next loop, ch 2, d c i next loop repeat until 7 loops are made, d c in each of next 13 loops, *ch 2, d c in next loop, repeat from * until 7 loops are made, ch 3, turn. 2^nd row: 2 d c in each loop and d c in each d c until 21 d c’s are made, then d c in every other d c 7 times, then d c in each dc and 2 d c in each loop of remainder, ch 3, turn. 3^rd row: D c in each of next 21 d c, skip 6 d c, d c in each of remainder. Sew center together and work a row if a c along neckline.

Cuff: Starting at beginning of fan at one end, ch 28, turn. 1^st row: D c in 4^th ch from hook, d c in each of next sts, * ch 2, skip 2 sts d c in next st, repeat from * 5 more times (6sps). D c in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, turn. 2^nd row: D c in each of 3 d c, ch 10, skip 2 sps, 3-tr cluster in next d c, ch 10, d c in each of last 4 d c, ch 3, turn. 3^rd to 16^th rows incl: Finish fan same as in jabot.

Center section: Attach thread to 1^st st of 1^st row, ch 5, skip 3 d c, 2 s c under next loop, ch 5, * 2 s c under next loop, repeat from * until 5 loops are made, ch 7, turn. 2^nd to 20^th rows incl: finish fan same as in jabot.

Center section: Attach thread to 1^st st of 1^st row, ch 5, skip 3 d c, 2 s c under loop, ch 5, * 2 s c under next loop, repeat from * until 5 loops are made, ch 7, turn. 2^nd to 20^th rows incl: 2 s c in 1^st loop, * ch 5, 2 s c in next loop, repeat from * across, ch 7, turn. Fan on this end of cuff is worked as follows: ch 3, 2 s c in loop, * ch 3, 2 s c in next loop, repeat from * across. Work fan as before ( 1^st to 16^th rows ). Finish off cuffs with 1 row of s c, a row of d c and a row of a c along side. S c in each s c and s c in each ch of ch-10. 12^th to 20^th incl: ( or until work measures about 6 inches ): 6 increases to each rnd ( 2 s c in s c makes an increase ). 21^st to 41^st rnds incl: ( or until desired depth of crown ): S c each rnd without increasing. Break off.

Brim: Attach 88. Peach. 1^st rnd: Turn work and in opposite direction make s c in each s c of crown with 4 increase of 1 s c spaced at equal intervals. 2^nd to 7^th rnds incl: S c in each s c of previous rnd. 8^th rnd: Continue as before, making 4 increases in the rnd. 9^th rnd: S c in each s c. 10^th rnd: S c in each s c with 4 increases. 11^th rnd: S c in each s c. 12^th rnd: S c in each s c in with 4 increases. 13^th to 17^th rnds incl: S c in each s c of previous rnd.

Bow: With Peach, ch 25. 1^st row: S c in 2^nd ch from hook, and in each st of ch. Ch 1, turn. 2^nd turn to 35^th rows incl: S c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn.
