Materials: Clark’s O.N.T Knitting and Crochet Cotton, 1 ball of White and 1 ball of 88 Peach. Milward’s steel crochet hook No.1 or 2. Use thread double throughout.

Crown: Begin with White. CH 3, join with sl st to form ring. 1^st rnd: Make 6 s c in ring, and continue working around. 2^nd rnd: 2 s c in each s c of previous rnd. 3^rd rnd: * S c in s c, 2 s c in next s c (this is an increase), repeat from * around. 4^th rnd: S c in next s c, ch 6, skip 5 s c, s c in next s c ( thus making slit), and continue around making s c in each s c with 6 increases in the rnd. 5^th rnd: S c in each s c, and s c in each ch of ch-5, making 6 increases in rnd. 6^th to 9^th rnds incl: S c in each s c of previous rnd with 6 increases as before. 10^th rnd: Make another slit directly over previous slit, but skip 9 s c, ch 10, and make s c in next s c, and continue around 6 increases. 11^th rnd

S c in each s c and s c in each ch of ch-10. 12^th to 20^th rnds incl: ( or until work measures about 6 inches ): 6 increases to each rnd ( 2 s c in s c makes an increase ). 21^st to 41^st rnds incl: ( or until desired depth of crown ): S c each rnd without increasing. Break off.

Brim: Attach 88 Peach. 1^st rnd: Turn work and in opposite direction make s c in each s c of crown, with 4 increases of 1 s c spaced at equal intervals. 2^nd to 7^th rnds incl: S c in each s c of previous rnd. 8^th rnd: Continue as before, making 4 increases in rnd. 9^th rnd: S c in each s c. 10^th rnd: S c in each s c with 4 increases. 11^th rnd: S c in each s c. 12^th rnd: S c in each s c with 4 increase. 13^th to 17^th rnds incl: S c in each s c of previous rnd.

Bow. With Peach, ch 25. 1^st row: S c in 2^nd ch from hook, and in each st of ch. Ch 1, turn. 2^nd to 35^th rows incl: S c in each s c across Ch 1, turn.
