Irish Crochet Collar and Jabot No.7
Materials Required- American thread Company “Silkine” or “Star”
Crochet Cotton Size 50, 4 Balls, White or Colors
Steel Crochet Hook No. 10 0r 11

COLLAR – Make a ch to fit loosely around the neck, work 1 d c in 8th st form hook, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st, repeat from * across row. 2nd row – Ch 3, 3 d c in each mesh. 3rd row- Ch 5, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st, * ch 2, skip 2 sts, 1 d c in next st repeat from * to end of row making an even number if meshes. 4th row- Ch 7, sl st in 4th st from hook for picot ch 7, sl st in 4th st hook forpicot, ch 3, skip 1 d c, s c in next d c, repeat from beginning across row. 5th row – Ch 7, sl st in 4th st for picot, ch 7, cl ct in 4th st for picot ch 3, s c between picots of previous row, repeat across row and work 8 more rows. 14 row- Ch 10, s c between picots, repeat across row. 15th row- Ch 3, s c in first loop, ch 3, * 4 d c, 5 t r c, ch 3, 5 t r c, 4 d c in next loop, ch 3, 1 s c in s c, * ch 3, and repeat from * across row. 16th row – Ch 3 s c in s c, * ch 3, 1 d c in first d c of shell, ch 3, 1 t r c in each t r c, 3 t r c in center of shell, ch 3, 3 tr c in center of shell, 1 tr c in each tr c, ch 3, 1 d c in last d c of shell, ch 3, s c in s c, repeat from * across row. 17th row – Ch 6, skip 3 tr c, 1 tr c in each of the next 5 tr c, 3 tr c in center of shell, ch 3, 3 tr c in center of shell, 1 tr c in each of the next 5 tr c, ch 6, s c in s c , repeat from beginning to end of row. 18th row – Ch 5, s c in loop, ch 5, s c in 1st d c, ch 5, skip 3 tr c, s c in next tr c, ch 5, 3 tr c in center of shell, ch 3, 3 trc in center of shell, ch 5, skip 3 tr c, s c in next tr c, ch 5, skip 3 tr c, s c in last tr c, ch 5, d c in s c and continue across row. Finish inside edge of collar with one row of s c.
JABOT- Ch 18, d c in 6th st from hook, * ch 2, 1 d c in next st, repeat from * 13 times. 2nd row – Ch 3, 3 d c in each mesh and 1 d c in each d c. 3rd row- Ch 4,* skip 1 d c, 1 dc in next d c, ch 1, repeat from across arrow. 4th row – Ch 7, sl st in 4th st for picot, ch 7, sl st in 4th picot, ch 3, skip 1 d c, 1 s c in next d c, work another double picot loop and s c in next d c repeat from beginning across row. Work 25 rows of double picot loops, and repeat collar directions from 14th row. Work a row of 10 ch loops over 11th and 19th rows and work shells in loop same as collar.

Wheel Jabot no. 81
MATERIALS REQUIRED: American Thread Company “Silkine” or “Star” Pearl Cotton
Size 5 “Deluxe” or “Gem” Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton or “Star”
Crochet Cord. 1 Ball White or Colors. Steel Crochet Hook No. 8

1st row – Ch 10, join, ch 1, 18 s c in ring. 2nd row-*Ch 3 skip 1 st, s c in next st, repeat from *8 times. 3rd row – S1 st to loop, * ch 3, 2 d c in same loop, s c in next loop. 4th row- Ch 5, s c in s c between shells, repeat all around 5th row – S1 st to loop, * ch 3, 3 d c in same loop, s c in next loop repeat from * all around. 6th row- Ch 7 , s c in between shells, repeat all around. 7th row- S1 st to loop, * ch 3, 5 d c in same loop, s c in next loop repeat from * all around. 8th row- Ch 8, s c in s c between shells , repeat all around 9th row – S1 st to loop, * ch 3, 2 d c in same loop, 4 ch picot, 3 d c in same loop, picot, 3 d c in same loop, sl st in next loop, repeat from * all around. Break thread and work another wheel.

CORD- Ch 5 join, 1 sc in each st, continue working rows of s c until cord is length desired. Slip cord through the two wheels joining them together and knot on the right side. Finish ends of cord with round buttons. This Jabot may also be made of “Silkateen”- “Sansilk” or “Silkine” or “Star”Crochet Cotton Size 30 using two strands.

Braided Belt No. 82
Materials Required: American Thread Company “Deluxe” or “Gem” Mercerized
Crochet and Knitting Cotton, “Star” Crochet Cord or “Silkine” or “Star” Pearl Cotton
Size 5. 1 Ball each of 2 Harmonizing or Contrasting Colors
Steel Crochet Hook No. 8 1 Double Buckle

1st row- Ch 8, work 1st d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in each st.
2nd row – Ch 3, 1 d c in each d c, repeat 2nd row until work measures about 3 inches more than length required for belt. Work another band in same color and one in contrasting color. Braid the three bands together keeping work flat and tack together at intervals. Sew ends and attach buckle. This belt may also be made in “Silkateen” – “Sansilk” or “Silkine” or “Star” Crochet Cotton Size 30 using 2 strands of Cotton.

Bean Stitch Belt No. 83
Materials Required – American Thread Company “Silkine” or “Star”
Crochet Cotton Size 30. 4 Balls White
Steel Crochet Hook No. 8. 1 Bone or Metal Ring

The entire belt is worked with a double thread, Ch 275 1 s c in each st of ch, 3 s c in last st, 1 s c in each st on other side of ch. Work 2 more rows of s c working 3 s c working 3 sc in each corner of straight side and 2 s c in each of the center sts of round end. 4th row-* 1 d c in each of the 1st 4 s c, 1 bean st ( 4 d c, sl loop off hook, insert in 1st stitch and pull loop through ) in next st, repeat from * all around and work 2 more rows of sc.
Cover a 1 1/2 inch ring with a row of s c and tiwst the stitches on ring. Attach ring to straight side of belt. To fasten belt, slip round end through ring and fasten with a snapper. The belt will be equally attractive made in any of the following “Star” Brand threads. “Silkateen”- “Sansilk”, “Silkine” or “Star” Pearl Cotton Size 5,” Star” Crochet Cord, “De Luxe” or “Gem” Mercerized Crochet and Knitting Cotton. If “Silkateen”- “Sansilk” is used work with a double thread. One strand only is required for all other threads.
